FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CIVF hosts another SAP Course...International Volleyball Course. Monday, 22nd Aug 2004The Cayman Islands Volleyball Federation (“CIVF”), in a bid to continue the promotion and development of Volleyball in the Cayman Islands, and the need to expose the sport to the youth, is hosting another Sports Aid Program (“SAP”) Course, to foster the creation of a Junior National. This SAP course has an objective of increasing the awareness of the sport of volleyball, taking into consideration the available resources of each country. The program is a developmental tool for member countries interested in enhancing fundamental elements of the sport, as well as teaching and administrative methods and is partially funded by the FIVB. The emphasis of the course is to teach the basics of volleyball to children, young people, young volleyball players, and future coaches. This course is free of charge and will be on September 6-11 2004.
· Instructor for this course is: Mr. Paul Brasson of Canada an experienced coach from the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball ("FIVB").
· Venue: Community College (University College of the Cayman ) Olympic Road
· Start time 3:30 PM · Beginners or intermediate are the level of the players required i.e. Students of High School or College. · A special consideration will be given to interested participants over the age of 21 depending on their skill level. · Participants will learn all the major skills of the game and will be introduced to the rules of the sport. · A certificate of participation will be received at the end of the course. · Participants will receive a t-shirt and SAP manual.
